There seems to be a great deal of speculation regarding the timing of President Biden signing H.R. 82 into law.
The bill was advanced to the Senate for signatures on Tuesday, December 24th and then to the White House for President Biden’s signature. According to the White House, President Biden is required to act on H.R. 82 on or before the January 19th deadline.
Based on past conversations with President Biden regarding this bill and discussions with his staff, the NFOP is confident the bill will be signed into law in advance of this deadline. Tentative discussion suggests the signing will possibly take place late next week, but this is not yet confirmed.
